Great Black and White Photographers part 3

1.) What first caught your eye while looking at your photographers photos? Is there something in particular about their photos that made you want to choose them? Post the images with your writing.

The first thing that caught my eye was how amazing he made the photo look even though it was in black and white. I wanted to choose these because i really enjoy looking at pictures that have nature in them.

2.) Look at those 2 photos you posted last time in the assignment Great Black and White Photographers Part 2. Use your five senses to tell me more about those photos. Answer them on your blog.
I see  the moving water in the bay. I see the one rock sitting alone in the middle of the water
I smell the salt in the sea. I smell the fish of the sea.
I hear the rushing waves. I hear the dolphins talking in the distance.
I taste the salt in the air. I taste rocks.
I feel the nice breeze coming from the ocean.

I see workers in hard hats. I see a lot of heavy metal

I smell a lot of oil. I smell smoke.
I hear the grinding of machines. I hear the workers radio.

I taste my sandwich I eat for lunch. I taste the drink I had with it.
I feel the wrench in my hand. I feel the extreme heat of the sun.

3.) Finally, what would you like to create to show the world your great photographer. Ideas include, posters, power points, a blog, etc. You tell me what you would like to create so we can come up with a plan to share your thoughts and ideas about your photographer with your classmates and with the rest of the school.

I would like to take some really nice black and white photos of the things he took photos of but in the current time when they are completed. This ill be cool because you can see how much they have changed over the years.

Mural Project

1. What theme, that we could take here at school, could we do a series of these panels to place around the school? we could keep doing the stand up bowie one. But instead of just the sigh we could take pictures of the sign in a lot of different places.

2. Should we use phones only, or should we open it up to our regular cameras for those people that don't have camera phones? Yes we should only use phones, because the people with nice cameras will have a huge advantage.

3. Where would you want to put the mural on campus?

We could put it where ever the most people are like in the courtyard.

aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO

1. What part of the body should we closely relate aperture? Your eyes pupil.
2. Finish this sentence - the smaller the Aperture the longer the depth of field, the higher the Aperture the shorter             the depth of field.
3. In your own words tell me how aperture impacts Depth of Field? small = longer
depth
                                                                                                         bigger = shorter depth

1. If you were assigned to shoot at Bulldogs and Hotdogs night, which was a few months ago, what shutter speeds do you think you would have to shoot at the following events that night I would like you to answer the question for the following two situations:

At the beginning while the sun was still up and the courtyard had reasonable good light

a.) a booth in the middle of the yard near the Tree-medium
b.) a food booth outside under one of the big red awnings-medium
c.) the Stars performance inside the gym - fast
d.) students dancing near the center of the courtyard- fast
e.) people streaming in from the front doors- medium
f.) the basketball booth where students are shooting basketballs at a hoop-fast

Towards the end when there is no sun and has gotten dark enough that you can't see from one end of the courtyard to the other.

a.) a booth in the middle of the yard near the Tree - slow
b.) a food booth outside under one of the big red awnings -slow
c.) the Stars performance inside the gym - fast
d.) students dancing near the center of the courtyard - medium
e.) people streaming in from the front doors - slow
f.) the basketball booth where students are shooting basketballs at a hoop -medium

2. List the three settings your camera has regarding setting shutter speed
Fast, Slow, and Long

1. What are the advantages of shoot at a higher ISO at a sporting event like basketball or a night football game? It gives the photo more brightness
2. What suggestions did the author make about using a low ISO? Really nice crisp shots
3. What suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO? Brightens photo but adds noise and grain
